Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe says he does not regard building markets for Rivers people as doing favour to any particular community.
Abe, said this during a meeting with stakeholders of his party in Port Harcourt, few days ago.
According to him, having an international market in the state is not a favour to the Igbos, but for the economic advancement of Rivers state because it will generate revenue.
He vowed to transform the oil rich state, and that a new society based on justice, fairness and equal opportunity will be built.
Part of his statement reads,
“If we have an international market in Rivers State, that is not a favour to the Igbo people, that is the economic advancement of Rivers State, because the market will generate revenues for Rivers State.”
“We will build a new society, based on justice, fairness, equal opportunity, progress and prosperity. I don’t regard creating markets for Rivers people as doing a favour to any particular community.
“So please, be rest assured as soon as you have taken this decision and you have implemented it next year, all these things will change.
