Former Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress.
In a resignation letter dated May 22, 2026, and addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Orogun Ward 2, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Omo-Agege said his decision followed recent developments within the party in the state.
Agege stated that after consultations with his associates and supporters, he concluded that his political objectives and the interests of his constituents would be better served outside the APC.
“I will not remain a sitting duck in a party where I cannot advance the interests of Delta Central, Delta State and Nigeria,” the letter read.
Omo-Agege also thanked the party for the opportunity to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate, while requesting that his name be removed from all APC membership records and communication platforms.
He added that his focus would remain on delivering development and effective representation for Delta Central, Delta State, and Nigeria outside the ruling party.
