The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released former Sokoto State Governor and ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, after holding him overnight.
Tambuwal was detained and interrogated by EFCC operatives over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to N189 billion during his tenure as governor.
The politician, who served two terms as Sokoto governor, is currently at his Abuja residence, where he is receiving visits from prominent figures within the opposition coalition.
