The Bonny Local Government Council has announced the commencement of towing operations for vehicles parked in violation of local parking regulations.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday by the Office of Media and Communications, the council said the exercise has taken immediate effect, warning that all vehicles found parked illegally will be towed at the owners’ expense.
The council urged motorists to park only in designated areas and comply with all parking signs and traffic regulations, noting that the initiative is aimed at enhancing public safety, improving the free flow of traffic, and ensuring unhindered access for emergency services.
It also cautioned that motorists who repeatedly violate the parking rules may face additional penalties.
The Bonny Local Government Council appealed to residents and road users to cooperate with the task force in maintaining safe and orderly streets across the area.
