The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has commended the ongoing construction of the Bonny Vehicular Terminal (BVT) along the Bonny-Bodo Road, describing it as a strategic project that will enhance trade mobility and economic prosperity in the area.
Pepple, who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Warisenibo Tamunotonye Adolphus Jumbo, made the remarks during a one-day sensitisation programme for host communities and residents of Bonny Kingdom. The event, held at the Ibanise Town Hall in Bonny, was organised by the Bonny Kingdom Development Committee (BKDC).
In his address, the council chairman said the vehicular terminal represents more than just infrastructure, noting that it is a transformational investment aimed at driving development within the local government area. He explained that the project marks a significant step forward in strengthening connectivity, promoting economic empowerment, and advancing community development.
According to him, the terminal, strategically located along the Bonny-Bodo Road, is designed to serve as a central transport hub that will ease the movement of people, goods, and services. He added that upon completion, the facility is expected to stimulate trade, support local businesses, and contribute meaningfully to the overall economic growth of Bonny LGA.
The Bonny Vehicular Terminal is being constructed by Chairborne Engineering as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative by Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) under its Train 7 Project, an initiative endorsed by the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom.
The sensitisation programme aimed to engage stakeholders and raise awareness about the benefits of the project for host communities.
