The body of an unidentified young lady, who was reportedly lured from Ahoada East to Ogoda community in Ahoada West, where she was killed and some of her body parts cut off, has been recovered.
The remains were recovered on Saturday after the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Eugene Epelle, and his security team visited the community, where the body was retrieved from a stream deep in the jungle.
Speaking after the recovery, Epelle condemned the incident, expressing sadness over the killing and questioning why anyone would take another person’s life.
He said he received a report about the body in the stream and mobilised to the area to facilitate its recovery.
The council chairman assured that everyone involved in the crime would be brought to justice, stressing that his administration would not tolerate such acts.
“I’ll make sure I get to the root of this and promise that anybody that is involved in this matter will face the laws of the land. There is no forgiveness in murdering someone and our government will not tolerate nonsense,” he said
Epelle also confirmed that two persons were in custody as investigations into the incident continued.
The police and other security agencies were yet to react to the incident as of press time.
