The Academic Staff Union of Universities at the University of Port Harcourt has said no agreement has been reached with the Federal Government on the ongoing strike.
Chairman of ASUU in Uniport, Dr. Austen Sado disclosed this to journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt stating that the promise by the FG to release N30 billion is a mere proposal.
He described the proposal as blackmail stating that they made similar promises in 2017 and 2019 but failed to fulfill it.
Sado noted that the proposal falls short of their expectations as the reason for the strike was not due to their earnings.
He clarified that they went on strike due to unsuccessful negotiations with FG on a range of issues.
