Prince Asu Ekiye, popularly known as the Prince of the Niger Delta, has announced the end of his 28-year marriage to Kunemofa Asu.
Ekiye made the announcement in a public notice shared on social media, saying the decision followed years of personal growth, experience and reflection.
According to him, the marriage actually ended a year ago, but he deliberately waited before making the development public to allow himself time to gain perspective, clarity and acceptance.
“Some chapters, however significant and memorable, eventually come to an end,” Ekiye said, adding that he had chosen to close the chapter with “grace, gratitude and dignity” while looking forward to a new season.
The musician and cultural figure did not disclose the circumstances that led to the end of the marriage, describing the matter as a deeply personal transition.
