The Rivers State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to appoint a substantive Commissioner for Youth Development in the state.
Factional NYCN Chairman, Nwisabari Bani, made the call in Port Harcourt during an event marking International Youth Day.
The youth leader urged the state government to prioritise youth development by filling the vacant position of Commissioner for Youth Development.
Bani commended the prevailing peace in Rivers State, particularly the improved relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government.
He also praised FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as political maturity, while expressing support for the reconciliation committee led by Senator Magnus Abe.
