The All Progressives Congress, APC, has explained the reason behind the 24-hour postponement of its House of Representatives primary elections across the country.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, said the decision was taken due to logistical challenges experienced by some of the party’s screening committees.
Morka explained that some of the committees recorded delays in submitting reports from the screening exercise, making it necessary for the party to extend the timeline in order to properly compile and release the final list of cleared and disqualified aspirants nationwide.
According to him, the postponement was purely administrative and had nothing to do with complaints or agitations from party members over the mode of primaries.
He maintained that the party remains fully prepared for the conduct of the primaries and assured members that the exercise would proceed smoothly following the adjustment in schedule.
