The Federal Ministry of Agriculture has warned Nigerians against consuming PONMO, as well as smoked and bush Meat following the outbreak of Anthrax disease in countries within West Africa.
Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, gave the warning in a statement Today.
According to him, the disease, which affects both animals and humans, has already claimed many lives.
Findings reveal that Anthrax is caused by spores that naturally exist in the soil and commonly affect domestic and wild animals.
