Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has officially obtained the presidential nomination form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Amaechi picked up the form on Friday at the national headquarters of the ADC in Abuja, signaling his intention to contest for the presidency under the party’s platform.
The development comes amid ongoing political realignments and preparations by political parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Amaechi, a former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, served as Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015 and later as Minister of Transportation under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Party supporters and political associates who accompanied him to the party secretariat described his decision as a major boost to the ADC ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.
