The People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State has reacted to rumours making the rounds that a court sitting in Owerri, Imo state last week dissolved the state working committee of the party.
Chairman of the PDP in the state, Amb. Desmond Akawor in a chat with journalists yesterday denied the reports stating that no such injunction was issued by the court in Owerri.
He said the alleged court order which was being circulated on social media was the handiwork of mischief-makers. He noted that the court did not make any definite pronouncement on the leadership of the party in the state.
Akawor said the request of those who instituted the suit was not granted as the judge questioned if he had such powers to sit over the matter.
The state PDP chairman, furthermore stated that the names of those who filed the case are not known to the party as they are not members of the PDP. He also said the party is united and there is no crises in the party at any level in the state
