The Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team in Rivers State, has arrested three suspected kidnappers who lure and kidnap members of the public through an online dating site.
The three suspects, Nwachukwu Emeka, Michael Eneji and Success Okeke, were arrested by the Police, after they had Kidnapped and killed one Michael Victor, who reportedly went missing few weeks ago.
One of the suspects, who confessed to the crime in a chat with Journalists, said they parade themselves as ladies online, in search of men.
He stated that they lure their victims to hidden places where they rob them of their personal belongings, and in some cases take them hostage for ransom.
The leader of the gang Eneji, a graduate of Business Administration said he has been into the business of kidnapping and armed robbery since 2011 when he left school.
According to reports, officers of the IRT, led by DCP Abba Kyari starting tracking the gang after Victor’s family had reported the incident to the Police.
