The Rivers State Government has urged eligible youths across the state to apply for the Nigerian Army’s 92 Regular Recruit Intake, with the application deadline set for October 21, 2026.
Juliana Masi, PhD, Head, Information and Public Relations Unit, said the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, made the call during an interactive meeting between Army representatives, traditional rulers and youth leaders from the state’s 23 local government areas.
Wokoma said military service offered opportunities for national service, skills acquisition and career advancement, adding that today’s recruits could rise to leadership positions within the institution.
The leader of the Army sensitisation team from Army Headquarters, Abuja, Brigadier-General B. U. Ugbaji, said the recruitment drive followed President Bola Tinubu’s mandate for the enlistment of 28,000 personnel.
He urged Rivers youths to take advantage of the exercise, warning that the state risked losing representation if its recruitment quota was not fully utilised.
Ugbaji encouraged qualified candidates to apply for positions for tradesmen and women and non-tradesmen and women. He added that the Army also offered opportunities for educational development.
Speaking on behalf of traditional rulers, the Gbenemene and Kasimene of Ancient Bangh Kingdom VIII, HRM King Suanu T. U. Baridam, pledged to mobilise youths in their communities and sensitise them about the recruitment exercise.
The meeting also allowed youth representatives to seek clarification on the recruitment process.
Interested candidates are to submit their applications through the Nigerian Army’s official recruitment portal: https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
