The Rivers State chapter of the Nigerian Legion, has awarded scholarship to fifty persons in the state.
Chairman of the union, Justice Chichi disclosed this during a ceremony held in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
He commended the state governor, Nyesom Wike for his support and for floating the scholarship scheme.
He noted that the government has been able to enlarge the scheme to accommodate widows.
Children of widows and dependants of fallen soldiers were amongst those awarded.
The event, had the state commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku in attendance.
