The Rivers State Police Command says it would lockdown the state throughout the Christmas season to mop up arms in the hands of miscreants.
The state Commissioner of Police, Effiong Okon made this known while addressing officers on administration of criminal justice act in Port Harcourt, Today.
“We will lockdown Rivers State throughout the Christmas season to mop up arms/weapons in the hands of miscreants,” he said.
According to him, the command is committed to maintaining law and order before, during and after the elections in the state.
He warned those involved in crime and criminality to desist from the act, as anyone found wanting will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.
