Some Niger Delta women, yesterday protested at the headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission, in Port Harcourt.
The women, who wore black outfits, carried placards with different inscriptions and blocked the gate of the building.
They demanded that the Board of the NDDC be constituted and that the sole administrative board be dissolved as it has failed people of the region.
They also demanded that the report of the forensic audit be made public, employment of youths, women empowerment among others.
Leader of the protesters, on her part, said 80 percent of the women are vulnerable due to negligence.
She called on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, God’swill Akpabio and AGF, Abubakar Malami to leave the commission alone.
She said they decided to take their destinies in their hands since their men have failed them.
