Governor Nyesom Wike, of Rivers State has taken a swipe at the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) describing it as a toothless bulldog. This is over the body’s failure to defend Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki.
The Governor disclosed this after Obaseki paid him a courtesy visit yesterday, at Government House, Port Harcourt. He said it is unfortunate that he belongs to a forum that can only bark and not fight.
He stated that the once vibrant forum has been reduced to nothing since the APC assumed office in 2015, noting that the disqualification of Obaseki, a sitting Governor by the APC, is unheard of.
The governor equally accused the Chairperson of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) in the state, Dr. Obubelebara Adeniyi of politicising the fight against coronavirus in the state.
The Chairperson had earlier decried the lack of PPE for doctors and health workers in treatment and isolation centers across the state.
