Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has warned that he will not fail to drop the chairman or any member of the newly reconstituted Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), if it is proven that any of them is a card carrying member of any political party.
Wike issued the warning while inaugurating members of the committee at Government House in Port Harcourt.
He urged members of the commission to effectively carry-out their duties without fear or favor and ensure that the upcoming Local Government election in the state is free, fair and credible.
The Commission is being chaired by Justice George Omereji (rtd), and other members, including Dr Doris Ruhuoma Chukwu; Mrs Chioma Ochia; Dr Hope Barango Tariah; Professor Lysias D. Gilbert; Barrister Barine Akpobari Nwikinanei; Dr Iyeneomie Tamunoberetonari and Dr Solomon Egbey.
