Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said that some persons sponsored the kidnap of expatriates on the Trans Kalabari road, to stop the project.
The governor, who made this known during a stakeholders meeting at Government House in Port Harcourt, Today, vowed to complete the project.
According to him, no form of blackmail or distraction can stop the completion of the project.
On the issue of his successor: The governor said he would not anoint anyone as he is not a pastor.
He took what seems like a swipe at those eyeing the governorship seat, when he asked which of them eyeing the position can singlehandedly finance the party’s campaign across the 23 local government areas of the state.
“Which one of you eyeing the governorship can singlehandedly finance the party’s campaign across the 23 LGAs,” the governor asked.
