Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has sacked the State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Igbiks Tamuno.
Hon. Igbiks Tamuno was relieved of his appointment today, shortly after he held a press conference to address concerns about the Black soot, bedeviling Port Harcourt and its environs.
Hon. Igbiks was also directed by the Governor to hand over all government properties in his possession.
There are unconfirmed reports that he was fired due to some statements he made during the press briefing, which did not go down well with the state Governor.
