Senator, Magnus Ngei Abe has reacted to the statement credited to the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi that the All Progressives Congress, has zoned the 2023 Governorship position in Rivers State to the riverine area.
According to reports, Amaechi made the statement during a stakeholders meeting at Ogu/Bolo local government area of the state, few days ago.
Reacting to the statement, Magnus Abe said no one person, Amaechi inclusive has the power to zone the governorship position of state to any region.
He said the former Governor of the state, was only speaking for himself and not the party. “It is also a ploy to shut me out of the race and set the riverine region against the rest of state,” he stated.
Abe said, it is shocking that the party has not even concluded its membership registration, as there are no Ward chairmen; Local Government Chairmen, yet someone is already zoning the Governorship position.
He warned that if such an action is taken, it will lead to another doom of failure, like that of 2019.
