Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has lifted the suspension of the Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Ihunwo. Ihunwo was suspended few months ago for unlawful activities.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo today.
He said the chairman has been directed by the state government to resume official duties and warned to desist from any illegal action.
“He is further warned to desist from engaging in all forms of illegal or double taxation or any other acts against public interest”, he said.
Hon Victor Ihunwor, a former member of the State House of Assembly and current Mayor of PHALGA, was on July 23 suspended by the state government for illegal collection of taxes and levies in the LGA.
