Spokesperson of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Solomon Lenu has reacted to the appointment of 14,000 special advisers by Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The state governor, yesterday appointed 14,000 advisers and 359 liaison officers ahead of next year’s elections.
However, Lenu in a statement on Wednesday described the appointees as “election riggers and shooters”
He said the 14,000 persons were appointed to intimidate Rivers people during next year’s election.
He described Gov. Wike as a desperate man, who is ready to spend tax payers money to rig the 2023 election, and called on opposition parties to unite so as to redeem Rivers people from the shackles of Wike.
His statement reads,
Wike appoints 14,000 election Riggers & 359 shooters that will intimidate Rivers people during next year’s election.
I’ve said it severally
That Wike is a desperate man, & he’s ready to spend upto 2024 Rivers budget to rig the 2023 election.
The only way forward is for oppositions to unite on purpose “IF” they are ready to redeem Rivers people from the shackles of Wike.
