The People’s Democratic Party, says it will not participate in the Oct. 5th Local Government elections in Rivers State, due to an ongoing legal case initiated by the Tony Okocha-led faction of the All Progressives Congress.
Chairman of the party in the State, Aaron Chukwuemeka made this known during a stakeholders meeting in Port Harcourt.
Recall that Tony Okocha before his removal as CTC Chairman of the APC by the court, had secured an order stopping the conduct of the poll and restraining INEC from releasing the voters register to RSIEC.
However, RSIEC in a statement on Tuesday said the elections would hold as the court cannot stop its conduct.
