The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, says it will begin mass disconnection of those owing electricity bill from January 2022.
The company in a statement yesterday, said they fail to give steady power supply because customers do not pay bill.
The statement also said the company is out to arrest and prosecute energy thieves and those vandalizing their properties.
“We will begin mass disconnection from January next year. We are out to arrest, prosecute energy thieves. we dont give light because customers dont pay bills,” it said.
The company called on customers to ensure they clear up their bills to avoid disconnection, and also advised energy thieves to desist from the act.
