Rivers State Water Producer’s Association of Nigeria, has called on the government to provide palliatives for the association in the form of import waivers, soft loans, higher purchases of vehicles amongst others to reduce the cost of production and supply of potable water to Nigerians.
Chairman of the association, Egberi Mackson made this known when he appeared on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire.
According to him, the sector is one of the most neglected sectors by the government.
He stated that in the past, efforts made to get the federal and state governments to partner with the association in order to increase access to potable water for underserved areas were unsuccessful.
