The West African Examination Council (WAEC), says it will be impossible to conduct the Senior School Certificate Examination in May/June, because the academic calendar has been distorted, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Head of the National Office, Mr Patrick Areghan, who disclosed this in a Statement on Tuesday, said a convenient timetable for the examination will be released in no time.
He said the commission, also decided to postpone the conduct of the 2021, WAEC, for school candidates indefinitely due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“…The academic calendar has been distorted. It will, therefore, not be possible to have the examination in May/June this year. A convenient international timetable for the conduct of the examination will soon be released. All stakeholders are requested to keep their fingers crossed until they hear from WAEC,” he said.
