President Mohammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to go out and elect a new president and new national assembly members of their choice on Feb 25th, 2023.
In a nationwide broadcast on Thursday morning, Pres. Buhari urged Nigerians to come out on election day and vote for new leaders, assuring that adequate measures have been put in place to guarantee their safety.
“I urge every citizen, therefore, to go out to vote for their candidates of choice without fear, because security shall be provided and your vote shall count,” he said.
The President noted that the new policy on the naira redesign and limited cash withdrawal has reduced the influence of money in politics and thinks it is also a step in building a strong foundation for free and fair elections.
“I am aware that this new monetary policy has also contributed immensely to the minimization of the influence of money in politics. This is a positive departure from the past and represents a bold legacy step by this administration, towards laying a strong foundation for free and fair elections,” he noted.
He called on all electorates to eschew violence and avoid actions capable of Jeopardizing the election process.
