Officials of the Rivers State Neighbourhood Watch, today, barricaded the State Government House over 15 months unpaid salaries.
The officials in a chat with journalists said they are being owed for 15 months.
According to them, despite helping to stop illegal oil refining activity in the state, and ensuring peace in Ogoni communities, the state government has refused to pay them.
They appealed to the State Government to pay them their salaries, adding that they have been unable to take care of themselves and their families.
The Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Agency (RIVNESCA) was created by Rivers State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law No. 8 of 2018, to encourage and consolidate an effective security synergy between the security agencies and communities.
The state government is yet to react to the development.
