We are glad to announce that the University of Port Harcourt has officially closed Yesterday 23rd December for the year 2021 and shall resume on Monday, 3rd January, 2022. However, the newly recruited staff are expected to be available until Friday/Saturday 24th/25th December, 2021 for IPPIS capturing.
We sincerely appreciate all Staff, students and stakeholders of the University for their tireless efforts and quality service delivery in the University since our assumption of office.In this short week, the following events took place in the University of Port Harcourt:
The Principal Officers met and appropriate decisions were taken on matters brought before them.
We received Ogbako Etche Community in the University of Port Harcourt and had fruitful discussions on possible areas of interest for the growth of the Group and the University.
Similarly, we received the newly inaugurated Executive members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities. We held fruitful deliberation on areas of mutual relationship and the need for an improved workforce.
End of Year meeting with Board members of U & C Micro Finance Bank with the University Management was held to appraise the 2021 financial year.
We received delegates from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) on areas of collaboration with the University of Port Harcourt with specific interest in research projects, hybrid energy system, Staff and students exchange and linkage programmes amongst others.
We inaugurated the Steering Committee and subcommittees of the 33rd Combined Convocation Ceremony of the University.
