The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the immediate suspension of all non-academic student activities until further notice.
The directive was contained in a memorandum issued by Registrar of the institutions, Mrs. Gloria O. Chindah on Monday, July 20, 2026, following a meeting of the University’s Principal Officers.
According to the memorandum, all students are prohibited from organising or participating in any activity outside the institution’s normal academic programme, regardless of whether such activities had previously received approval.
The university said the suspension takes effect immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
“The Principal Officers at its meeting held on Monday, 20th July, 2026, decided that all non-academic related student activities are suspended forthwith till further notice,” the memorandum stated.
The management urged all students to strictly comply with the directive, noting that the decision has been communicated for their information and adherence.
