Professor Princewill Chike on Monday officially assumed office as the 10th Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), following a formal handover and inauguration ceremony.
Professor Chike will oversee the affairs of the institution for the next five years, with a mandate to provide strategic direction aimed at strengthening academic excellence, research, innovation and institutional development.
Speaking during the inauguration, the new Vice Chancellor pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors while promoting excellence, transparency, improved staff and student welfare, and stronger collaboration with stakeholders.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the university’s vision and positioning it for greater national and international recognition.
The ceremony was attended by members of the university community, friends and well-wishers, who expressed optimism that Professor Chike’s administration would usher in a new era of growth, progress and continued development for the University of Port Harcourt.
