First Lady of Rivers State and wife of Governor Wike, Justice Suzzette Eberechii Wike has been appointed UNICEF champion for risk communication and community management.
Speaking at Govermment House Port Harcourt, Suzzette commended the organization for their support to the state government in curbing the spread against the pandemic. She called on other organizations and well-meaning Rivers people to emulate the UNICEF.
The first lady who called for more hand-washing machines in communities, advised residents of the state to continue obeying government’s directives. She equally urged the people to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene.
Representative of the UNICEF in Rivers State, Modeste Yougo thanked the first lady for accepting the award. She said the organisation is committed to ensuring that the state is free of the virus.
