The Federal government of Nigeria, says it could start evacuation of Nigerians who have left Ukraine for other neighbouring countries, from Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema made this known in a meeting with the leadership of the Hose of Representatives, yesterday.
He said, Nigerians in Ukraine have been able to to find refuge in neighbouring countries like Poland, Hungary, and Romania, since the invasion by Russia.
According to him, those who have left Ukraine were being taken care of with feeding and accommodation pending their evacuation from their different areas.
He also said some Nigerians caught in the war do not want to come back home.
“We hope to start evacuation hopefully Wednesday although some do not want to come back. We are doing everything possible to ensure that come Wednesday we will dispatch planes for evaluation,” he said.
