Two Rivers residents have accused officers attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Borokiri Division of extortion and harassment.
According to popular Rivers journalist, Allwell Ene the victims in a statement said trouble started when their e-hailing cab took a wrong turn on SARS road while heading for Rumuosi.
According to them, the police officers who used a Black private Toyota Camry with plate number KSF-57-DL, stopped their vehicle and threatened to shoot them for violating the law if they did not pay them N200,000.
The victims alleged that after much pleading, the police officers finally agreed to collect 100,000 naira which they withdrew through a PalmPay POS operator at Garrison.
They appealed to the Commissioner of Police, Okon Effiong to ensure justice is served and return the N100,000 which was extorted from them.
The police is yet to react on the incident.
