Nigerians have reacted to the Nigerian army’s statement on “peace and stability of the nation”.

The Nigerian Army has on its Facebook handle today declared its commitment to “sustenance of peace, security and defence of democracy in Nigeria”.

While reaffirming their commitment to President Muhammadu Buhari, the organisation warned troublemakers to desist from “such acts as it remains highly committed to defend the country and her democracy at all cost”.

The army also said it is “ready to fully support the civil authority in whatever capacity to maintain law and order and deal with any situation decisively. All officers and men are directed never to be distracted by anti democratic forces and agents of disunity”.

Read some of the comments by Tweeters in response to the army’s statement below:

You need to take a drastic action, it seems like there's a hidden factor behind this noise of End SARS. Government dissolve SARS but still disturbing people's on the street.

Dear Nigerian Army, eku ise ooo. There are only two groups against the peace and stability of the nation and they are; 1. Government and 2. Boko haram.

Face these two entities and satisfy your lust for trigger, do not, l repeat, do not aim at protesters cos we are determined

I think you @HQNigerianArmy should be happy and glad that the youths of Nigeria are excersissing their civic and constitutional responsibility
Your men are been killed on daily basis by BH…The youth are on the streets to stop Boko Haram by making sure that govt do what is right

This is the perfect time for all our gallant boys who are sent to battle boko haram with obsolete weapons, empty stomachs and bad Intel to rebel against the service chiefs and join forces with the masses. Time to take our country back from village idiots we have as leaders.
