Rivers State recorded 9 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,683 with 2,555 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
In total, Nigeria recorded 179 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (116), Anambra (20), FCT (9), Oyo (9), Rivers (9), Delta (3), Nasarawa (3), Edo (2), Kaduna (2), Ogun (2), Plateau (2), Ekiti (1), and Osun (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 60,834 with 52143 and 1,116 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
