Residents of Nkpogu Street at the Trans Amadi axis of Port Harcourt have drawn public attention to an alleged continuous inhuman treatment of a 9-year-old little girl by her aunty.
According Elsie Worgor, a Facebook user and resident of the area, the little girl who is an orphan hails from Ebonyi State and lives with her aunty, who regularly maltreats her.
She said the aunty beats the 9-year-old as though she were a slave. “The girl eats cane as her breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis,” the neighbour noted.
Elsie stated that today’s maltreatment of the little girl took another turn as the 9-year-old was left with a bloodied nose. The beating which started this morning, lasted for few hours as neighbours pleaded with the girl’s aunty to stop but to no avail.
