Elders statesman and former Governor of old Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife has said he expects politicians from the South-East to emerge as flag bearers of the APC and the PDP in the 2023 presidential election.
Ezeife in a chat with journalists asserted that the country will disintegrate if a politician from the north emerges as President of the country come 2023. He advised that in order to protect the unity of Nigeria, an easterner must become president.
The outspoken politician equally noted that he has heard about northern interest in this. “The north likes Nigeria to survive because if they want to go again, it means they want to break the country completely,” he asserted.
Chukwuemeka Ezeife was Governor of Anambra State, Nigeria from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Third Republic. He is one of several south-eastern politicians calling for an Igbo presidency come 2023.
