A violent clash between rival cult groups in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, has left three people dead and three others in police custody.

Sources revealed that the conflict began on Friday when one group launched a deadly attack, killing two members of the opposing faction. This prompted a reprisal on Saturday, escalating the violence.

Among the deceased was a notorious cultist known as ‘Small Lighter,’ who had reportedly been terrorizing the community.

The confrontation forced some residents to flee their homes, while others sent warnings urging people to steer clear of the area due to gunfire.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that three fatalities had been recorded, and security operations were ongoing.
