Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, says he will never allow the People’s Democratic Party take Rivers State for granted no matter what.
Wike disclosed this during the flag-off ceremony of the party’s campaign for the April 17, local government election in the state.
The Governor, who said he can threaten the PDP, stated that there will be consequences if the party tries to shortchange Rivers people.
He said the main opposition party will not remain the same, if they try to gang up against Rivers State.
“Even Nigeria knows that Rivers State is not an ordinary State. Rivers State stands tall to say that if PDP is to win an election in Nigeria it has to be with the performance of Rivers State,”
Meanwhile, there are rumors of a rift between the party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus and the Governor.
Secondus and some party bigwigs in the state were absent as flags were handed over to Local Government Chairmanship candidates, yesterday.
