The Rivers State Police Command says it is aware of the crisis in the state regarding the expiration of the tenure of council chairmen.
Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt Today, the state commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu advised political actors and residents of the State to desist from any action capable of causing crisis.
According to him, officers have been mobilized to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order across the state.
He revealed that they have received a copy of the Appeal Court ruling on the matter and urged both parties to remain calm and wait the for hearing on the matter on June,.20 2024.
He also revealed that the command has received additional officers and equipment to help protect lives and property in the state.
