A faction of the All progressives Congress in Rivers State led by Sokonte Davies, has threatened legal actions against Governor Wike if he fails to lift the suspension of three local government chairmen in the state.
Spokesperson of the group, Ogbonna Nwuke who made this known in a statement yesterday said, the suspension of the chairmen by the governor amounts to the annulment of the power of the people.
Nwuke said the suspension was unconstitutional because the state governor lacks such powers. He further reacted to the statement by the PRO of ALGON in the state, Hope Ikiriko asking him to go study the constitution before making further comments.
Ikiriko had defended the actions of the governor, saying it was in line with the constitution.
