There’s really nothing you can do to remove a victim of spousal abuse from her/his environment except the victim takes the decision herself or himself.
The victim needs to come to terms with the reality of the situation and take steps to leave.
If you ask the victim to leave the spouse, you will find the victim going back to the spouse, again and again. It’s usually a cycle till the victim takes the decision for herself/himself.
All you can do is keep talking and provide all the support the victim will need when she/he eventually takes the step, this support is very essential.
