Following the fire incident at the Bonny/Bille Jetty yesterday, the Rivers State Government is set to demolish shanties in the area.
The state government, in a statement today, ordered residents to vacate the area before the demolition in two weeks time.
The government, commiserated with families of those who lost their lives in the inferno, and also wished the injured, quick recovery.
The fire incident, which occured in the wee hours of Monday, claimed lives and destroyed properties worth millions.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started after an explosion from a boat carrying illegally refined petroleum products.
