The South-South Governors Forum, has said that a security outfit will be formed for the region in no time.
Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, made this known after a meeting held in Port Harcourt, on Monday.
He said since most of the regions have established a security outfit that it was only necessary for the South South region to establish its own.
“After an extensive deliberation, the Council resolved (that) bearing in mind that most of the BRACED states have established their state security organs, we approved the regional security architecture which will be launched very soon,” he said.
All Governors of the region were present at the meeting except the Governor of Cross Rivers State, Ben Ayade.
