The Nigeria Democratic Congress has alleged that Some individuals are working hard to sabotage the efforts of the party by portraying it as no different from other political parties.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Thursday, National Spokesman of the party, Osa Director defended the party’s internal processes and reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, inclusive, and democratic system.
He disclosed that more than 50 per cent of the NDC’s candidates for the 2027 general elections emerged through consensus, describing the process as evidence of the party’s determination to break from the traditional style of politics.
According to him, the NDC remains committed to fulfilling its promise to Nigerians that politics within the party would not be “business as usual.”
Director said the party’s growing popularity has attracted many aspirants and supporters, noting that while only a limited number can eventually secure nominations, those who do not emerge successful should not see themselves as rejected.
He explained that disappointment is natural in any competitive political process but stressed that the NDC remains open to all its members.
The spokesman also reiterated comments made by the party’s national chairman, who described the NDC as a “political Noah’s Ark” designed to serve as a vehicle for national transformation, progress, and inclusive development.
He said the party is focused on providing Nigerians with a platform capable of driving meaningful change and advancing the country’s development.
