Troops stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) BONNY apprehended six suspects on Thursday in connection with the transportation of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO). The arrests were made during a routine patrol around the Opotumbi area of Rivers State.

The suspects were intercepted while conveying several sacks of the illegally refined product in a large wooden boat. According to military sources, the operation was part of the ongoing Operation DELTA SANITY aimed at curbing oil theft and illegal refining in the Niger Delta region.

Authorities confirmed that the suspects will be handed over to the appropriate agency for further investigation and prosecution.
